Mileage25,025Service Date6/22/2026Services Performed- The technician confirmed the customer's concern that the vehicle wouldn't start. After connecting a battery jump box, the vehicle started, allowing the technician to conduct tests. Multiple fault codes were found in the computer. The technician attempted to charge the battery, but it wouldn't hold a charge. Therefore, the recommendation is to replace the battery to proceed with proper diagnostics. The technician successfully replaced and re-registered the battery, allowing for comprehensive diagnostics on the starting system. The charging system and alternator were found to be functioning properly. All stored codes in the DME were cleared, and the technician re calibrated the moonroof, which had lost its calibration. After a road test, the technician confirmed that everything was operating within specifications. However, the vehicle is due for an oil change, and a brake fluid flush is also approaching. The technician recommends performing both services, as the vehicle may require additional maintenance based on its history and mileage.

2006 MINI Cooper
Mileage106,073Service Date6/11/2026Services Performed- Vehicle came into shop for strange noise from engine diagnosis, confirmed loud noise from engine. Checked all belt driven items while running, sounds like a bearing is failing. Scanned for faults, no codes in DME.Removed belt to individually check component bearings and determined the noise is coming from the alternator, supercharger bearings are also suspect. Rec replace alternator and to continue.. Further diagnostics may be needed.
- MULTIPOINT INSPECTION – CHECK ALL LIGHTS
- Customer previously reported a loud pulley-type noise from the engine bay. Previous Findings & Repair: Initial inspection indicated possible alternator-related noise. The alternator was tested and replaced with customer authorization. Follow-Up Inspection Results: After replacement of the alternator, the engine was re-evaluated for abnormal noises. All pulleys were probed and inspected. At this time, no pulleys exhibit excessive noise, abnormal play, or signs of bearing failure. The accessory drive system appears to be functioning normally. Additional Findings: Vehicle is equipped with an aftermarket cold air intake system. During operation, increased intake and supercharger noise is present. This is consistent with aftermarket intake systems, which amplify normal supercharger sound due to reduced intake restriction and lack of factory sound dampening. Conclusion: At this time, no mechanical faults were found within the pulley or accessory drive system. The noise the customer is experiencing is most likely normal supercharger/intake noise amplified by the aftermarket cold air intake. Recommendations: No repairs are necessary at this time. If the customer prefers a quieter operation, recommend reinstalling the factory intake system to reduce intake and supercharger noise
