Services Performed
- PERFORM LUBE, OIL, AND FILTER CHANGE.
- The technician confirmed the customer's concern regarding the vehicle leaking oil. Upon inspection, the technician found that the oil filter cap was improperly installed. The technician recommended performing an oil service, which includes replacing the oil filter with an OEM filter and refilling the vehicle with the correct oil. Additionally, the technician noticed that the drain plug was also incorrectly installed, contributing to the oil leak. The technician successfully rethreaded the drain plug back into the oil pan and confirmed that there were no further leaks from it. The new oil filter was installed with a proper O-ring, and no leaks were detected from the oil filter cap. Following these repairs, the technician conducted a road test, and the vehicle appeared to be functioning correctly. However, the technician noted that the vehicle should be taken to a detail shop to clean up the oil spilled in the engine compartment. There is a lingering oil smell from the exhaust manifold due to the residual oil, so the technician recommends cleaning the area and checking for any additional leaks. Furthermore, given the vehicle's history and mileage, it may be due for other services as well.
